Factors that determine Battery Life for the HardTrack Cloud Sensor devices - How to Extend Battery Life



Cellular signal strength.  Weaker cellular signals, sometimes require multiple attempts to connect and upload data, which will deplete the battery faster, than in areas where there is strong cellular signal strength.

Physical length of each temperature sensor cable

Number of temperature sensor cables

Frequency of logging or Logging Interval Setting.

Frequency of data upload or Upload Interval Setting. 

You may want to see the concrete temperatures every 30 minutes for the initial 3 days or until the concrete pour's core reaches its maximum temperature.  If this is the case, set your logging interval to 30 and your upload interval to 1. 

When the device reaches its maximum temperature, Restart Logging and change the upload interval from 1 to 2 or even a larger number, for example, 6.  Your currently logging device will pick up these new commands the next time it connects to the HardTrack Cloud Server to upload data. 

- With a logging interval set at 30 and the upload interval set at 2, you will see 2, 30 minutes temperature readings appear every 60 minutes.

- With a logging interval set at 30 and the upload interval set at 6, you will see 6, 30 minutes temperature readings appear every 180 minutes.

To extend the battery power of your HardTrack Cloud Senor, even more, change your logging interval to the minimum required by your specifications, for example, 60.  Changing your logging interval to 60 and, for example, your upload interval to 3, will cause (3) hourly temperature readings to appear every 180 minutes or every 3 hours.

If you initially chose to set your logging interval to 15 mins or 30 mins with an upload interval of 1, changing the logging interval to 60 and the upload interval to 3, will add many more hours of battery time for logging your concrete pour.
