How Do I Create A Production Recipe in Yellow Dog?
The first thing you will need to do when creating a production recipe in Yellow Dog is create the item that is going to be attached to your production recipe.
Set your level and vendor, generally you will have a level set for your production recipes, and vendor set up for your in-house items. If you do not, you can choose to create a new level or vendor by using the blue hyperlinks see on this page.
Next you will want to name your item in the description field and assign the correct size for the item.
Next, navigate to the “Create Kit or Recipe” tab and select the “…” in the Kit/Recipe field to attach your recipe to this item. If the recipe has not yet been created in Yellow Dog, you can create the recipe using the “Create New Recipe “ button in the recipe page that opens up.
Locate and select the recipe you would like to attach to this production recipe or create your new recipe here.
Next, set your recipe behavior by selecting “production recipe” from the drop down box as shown and save and close your new production recipe.
Production Recipe Behavior:
-In a manual adjustment, decreasing the on hand has NO AFFECT on ingredient items on hand.
-Increasing the on hand in a manual adjustment decreases the on hand of ingredient items.
-The item can be counted during a physical inventory and the count will apply to the production recipe itself.
Note: If your production recipe will be sold at the point of sale, you will want to set your retail price and set it as you would any other item to push to the point of sale.
